It is best practice to update the software on your Motorola Milestone™ every 30 to 60 days. NO DATA WILL BE LOST WHEN THESE UPDATES ARE PERFORMED.  

Below are the steps to check for updates, then download and install them as they arrive. If you have any issues performing one of these updates, please email AndroidExpert@acsalaska.com or call us at 800-808-8083.

• Open the Settings Menu
• Select “About Phone”
• Select “Check for Update”
• When asked to confirm possible charges select “Yes”
• Alaska Communications customers will not be charged for this data
• Your phone will reach out and check for updates
• When an update is available select “Download”
• Once the download has begun you will see the downloading icon on your status bar (at the top of your phone’s screen)
• If you pull down the status bar you will see the download progress
• When the download is complete, select “Update Now” to begin installing the update
• Your phone will switch to recovery mode to perform the install
• When the install is complete your phone will turn off and back on
• Your update is now complete
